How We Work

We advocate participation in non-action events. These events are scheduled in advance so our members can make necessary plans.
Our Process

See an example.

What are you asked to do?

Participate in our events. We will try to make them as easy as possible for you to commit to. And you can always participate at a lower level. Our current list of ideas includes:

Of course, this list is likely to change. And we're open to suggestions.

As urgency increases (for instance, an illegal war seems imminent), we intend to increase the event level. However, if our membership is too small, we may not schedule any events at all. So...

Become a member. In order for non-action events to be effective, many people have to participate. Of course, you can participate without becoming a member but you will not receive emails telling you when events are planned.

Ask others to join if you are already a member. Membership cannot grow if you are the last person to sign up. Please ask your like-minded friends to join us.

If you are not a member but find the idea interesting, ask your friends to visit anyway. They might consider joining even if you don't.

How does Earth Standing Still decide what to do?

Currently, the decision about what to do and when to do it is made by a small group of members who had an initial interest in the organization. It's not ideal, but the organization is young.

The plan is to allow such decisions to be made by our members. When we have that plan worked out, we will let you know.
